What’s Up With This Hype About Network Marketing Anyway!?

MLM, Split Second Marketing, Affiliate Marketing, Online Marketing, it’s all the same – just Network Marketing. More and more people are becoming interested in Multilevel Marketing “Make Life Meaningful”, MLM in short. Even though Network Marketing has existed since the beginning of time, most people are still unsure of what it actually is and how it works. There have also been many rotten apples that have tainted MLM’s existence with negative outlook and gave Network Marketing a bad name. As people tend to remember negative experiences rather than positive. You may have gone to the same restaurant 100 times, but if the food or service was awful once… what did you do? Probably remembered ‘that’ particular instance over the hundred great times that you’ve been there. With schools all over the world from Harvard to Oxford teaching Multilevel Marketing/Network Marketing; it’s a no brainer that MLM is one of the best ways to build residual income.

Studies by the Direct Selling Association (DSA) indicate that:

  • Direct selling accounts for annual sales of more than $190 billion world-wide.
  • The US contributes nearly $53 billion.
  • 19 million Americans derive independent contractor income from direct selling.
  • One in every 10 households has someone involved in network marketing or direct sales.

What is Multilevel Marketing and how does it work? MLM works because people prefer to use products listed by a friend or an acquaintance. It works because the products offered are good and cost fair value. It works because people feel satisfied with the product and indicate to acquaintances who are satisfied with the product and so forth on a scale of exponential growth.

Anyone can be a network marketer, but usually dedicated individuals and entrepreneurs that know they can make money with alternative income, also known as residual income tend to be involved in MLM. We normally sign up for an MLM company that consists of working to promote the products and the opportunity offered. With the main advantage of being able to start without initial investment that a normal business would accommodate. Taking into an account of high cost needed to start any company.

If I lost everything and had to start again, I would find myself a great network marketing company and get to work!” – Donald Trump

Who should avoid MLM?

Disbelievers in MLM. Anyone thinking about earning money easily without having to work.

What are advantages of MLM?

Possibility of unlimited gains. Without an expensive initial investment. Ability to work on your own time.

What are the disadvantages of MLM?

Moderate level of rejection by those who do not know. Not only by them, but mainly by those who “think they know.” This rejection is created by millions of people who promise unlimited earnings without any work. People who use MLM companies with particular forms of pyramids just to get more people registered without worrying about the quality of products or showing guidance when sponsoring. All this nonsense turns people off from serious chances of success.

Network Marketing

The Evolution of Network Marketing… Marketing in general context, is the junction of Relationship Marketing. It focuses on the quality of customer relations and direct marketing, which happens to be the direct relationship between vendor and customer. Therefore, Network Marketing allows the direct relationship of the distributor (seller) with the client to maintain a quality of relationship between them, since this system only devotes itself to the permanence of a direct relationship in the long run. Network Marketing is a distribution system or a form of marketing that’s moving legitimate goods and services with high market value, from the manufacturer to the consumer through a network of independent contractors. It’s a way to organize and pay for resellers involved in direct sales. It has a compensation plan for direct sales in which resellers can receive earnings with the following common two ways. First, marketers may receive compensation for their personal resale of products and services to consumers. Second, marketers may be paid for their purchases or resales of people recruited and sponsored. Individuals may also be paid from the resale of the group or network that recruited and sponsored them previously. At the end, it is an opportunity for marketers to set up their own business by reselling goods and services and developing and training an organization or a network of resellers they sponsor to do the same. A multilevel distribution company means any person, firm, corporation, or other business entity that sells or distributes goods or services through independent marketers, reps, agents, contractors, distributors, and varied participants may recruit other participants. Commissions, bonuses, refunds, discounts, dividends, and other considerations of the program are or should be paid as a result of the sale of a service, product, recruitment, performance shares, or additional participants.

I would rather earn 1% of 100 people’s efforts than 100% of my own efforts” – John Paul Getty (American Billionaire)

How can you succeed?

Short answer:

Work diligently, work consistently, and don’t give up.

Long answer:

All companies are different, and what works in one company might not work in another. You should learn from your upline – ask them what works and what you should do to succeed. Draw on them for help. They’ve found out from experience what works and what doesn’t and they’re interested in your success. The fundamental ideas, though, are the same in any company. Do what a distributor/associate/whatever is supposed to do in your company – retail products, sell services, consume products, whatever… and find others to do the same. Teach them to do what you do. *Duplication* is the key to success. Wherever there is a McDonalds – there is a Burger King. You’re not supposed to go out and enroll the world, or sell something to everybody on the planet. You’re supposed to find a few people who want to build a business, and help them do it. More importantly, teach them to do what a distributor does and go out and find a few people to work with and teach those new people. Until you have “taught your people to teach their people to teach,” you have not really duplicated yourself. Keep plugging away. Unless you’re incredibly good at this, it will take time to build a group. It takes time to find good people and teach them what they need to know. Sometimes your best people will give up and drop out. Sometimes it can be very discouraging. Sometimes you may be tempted to give up. If your company isn’t working very well, maybe you should. But if the company’s working well, and others are succeeding, you need to take a look at what you’re doing that isn’t working. It may be that you wouldn’t do any better in another company, even if the grass looks greener, because you’re doing the wrong things.

It is a sad fact that a very small percentage of people who enroll in any particular MLM will succeed big. This is not, however, a fatal flaw of MLM; it’s a reflection of real life. 90%+ of small businesses fail within 1-5 years… and the owners lose a whole lot more than the few hundred dollars an MLM person typically invests. 98%+ of corporate employees will never achieve executive levels. 95% of 65-year-old retirees in the US (according to Insurance & Social Security statistics) are dead or broke.

The sad fact is, very few people succeed big in any endeavor. Most people simply will not do what it takes to succeed. MLM is no different in this regard. However, many people get into an MLM with the idea that it’s some kind of “easy road to riches”. It’s not. It takes work. It takes time and dedication. But most people don’t see that, either because their sponsor misled them with rosy predictions of instant wealth, or because they chose to hear the easy story. People like this enroll and don’t do anything, or give it a try but give up after a few months. This is where the vast majority of “MLM failures” comes from.

The biggest problem with MLM is that it’s “too easy” to get into (usually no more than a few hundred dollars), so it’s “too easy” to get out. With only a few hundred bucks committed, it’s easy for someone to say “Ah, heck, I talked to 5 people and none of them were interested. This doesn’t work! Guess I wasted $200.” You should approach your business as if it was a “real” business, one that you had invested your life savings into. If you had sunk $200,000 into your MLM business, would you let 5 “no”s stop you? Hell no!! You’d get back out there and keep working until you made it work, because you had too damn much money in it to give up! Well, guess what? That’s what makes MLM work too – that dedication to keep working until you make it work. If you work consistently, and effectively and build your group faster than the faint-hearted people drop out, your group will slowly but steadily build. And if you’ve taught your people the correct ideas of “work consistently, work effectively, and teach your people how to duplicate your efforts”, you should see a consistent rate of growth. It will probably take longer than you’d like (hey, that’s the way life works), but as long as you keep working at it, your income will eventually build to the level you want.

The problem is, most people don’t do this. Most people who get into MLM give it a half-hearted try, then give up the first time they get a “no” and complain that “It doesn’t work.” Only the people who determine to put in the effort, and actually DO what it takes to succeed, will stick it out and end up on top.

Some questions to ask yourself before entering MLM/Network Marketing Opportunity

What do you get in return for your start up investment, other than the potential to earn good money? If you’re not getting a product or service or if the training tools appear to be overpriced you could have discovered a scam.

Consider the following factors that might influence long term success. Does the company have a proven track record?

If the company has been around for a few years then there is a fair chance that governing bodies that police pyramid schemes have already pulled the business model apart and given them the OK.

Is this a get rich quick scheme?

Digital Marketing Strategies Need To Be Aligned To The Most Recent Market Trends

To begin with, let us understand that any kind of marketing requires consistent and persistent efforts. Market trends keep changing and if you do not keep tweaking and optimizing, your business is sure to stagnate. This is exactly why it is highly essential that your digital marketing strategies be aligned to the most recent market trends. This helps brands better connect with their target audience and provide them with value services.

Adopt a data driven strategy

More and more businesses are embracing a data driven marketing strategy. Realizing the importance of data analysis and measurement tools, they also realize that with the right data at hand, they can provide customers with better services. This data is also crucial for developing new marketing strategies and creating better ad copies, better social media content and better overall content for digital marketing purposes.

Quality content to Engaging content

The importance of quality content cannot be emphasized on enough. Today’s customers demand more – along with the quality of the content, it should have the power to hold their attention long enough to convert them. So, whether you are using blogs or articles, social media or videos, make the content worth the reader’s time. Visitors simply browse through the content – until something interests them enough to stop and read on. Compelling content not only engages but also helps sustain the attention of potential customers. This is exactly why you need to keep refining your content and making it perfect.

Focus on mobile

Digital marketing trends are no longer limited to the web. If your digital marketing strategies do not include mobiles, you are missing out on a very large customer base. Mobiles have formed irreplaceable parts of our lives and digital marketing strategies today without a mobile marketing plan are almost in vein. Google too has made mobile friendliness as a key search ranking factor in their algorithm. This makes it all the more important to have a mobile marketing strategy.

Use visualizations to strengthen your story

Captivating videos and graphics are a great way to strengthen your marketing campaigns. There’s a reason why info-graphics and feature images are getting popular by the day. Here are a few stats to support this theory:

  • 46% of the marketers agree that visuals are crucial to any marketing strategy
  • Content with images receive 94% more views than those without.
  • 55% content creators prioritize creating visual content to make it more engaging for their readers.
  • 39% of the marketers allocate more budgets for the creation of compelling visual assets.

Images and videos generally have their own search index in Google and YouTube. They help in adding visibility to your business.

Finally, the key to any marketing strategy today is personalization. You need to ensure that you meet the needs of your target customers. The ultimate goal of digital marketing is to deliver the right content to the users at the right time. Keep all the factors in mind while you plan for your next digital marketing campaign.

Direct Marketing For Success

A Denver direct marketing agency can create a direct marketing campaign for your business that can be customized to meet a variety of needs from small to large. Your company can benefit from database creation, data analysis, creative program execution and even maintenance. The many options for business to consumer interaction and control are endless and will benefit your business tremendously. By working with a Denver direct marketing company you may be able to take your company to a new, highly efficient level that could increase sales and revenue.

You should ensure that the Denver direct marketing company you hire has in place the best and most successful specialists that have proven track records for turning profits for small as well as large companies.

The goal of the program is, of course, to have a positive effect on your bottom line. You want to gain an edge over your competition and organize your business so that it operates like a well oiled machine. The benefit of a direct marketing campaign can be as simple as turning your expenditures into successful investments for your company.

Look for a Denver direct marketing company that has years of experience under their belt, one that can show you results it has given to companies that are like yours. You want someone who knows what customers to target, that have done the research in your field and are able to execute a plan of action that will start earning your business money right away.

Direct marketing tools can provide a way for you to interact with your customers on a higher level, develop long term relationships as well as the right campaign for creating new prospects.

The Denver direct marketing firm you hire should have a direct and responsive advertising campaign, a customer relationship management program and the ability to create databases to manage and analyze the information about your customers as well as your company.

Before you hire a Denver direct marketing campaign you should understand a few things, you need to know exactly what your goals are beforehand so you can discuss with the specialist on how to achieve them.

Decide what the goal is, what you need the direct marketing campaign to accomplish. You want to ensure that your image is created and upheld properly, so decide what type of message you would like to portray. You should decide if you are going to be marketing products or if you just want to bring awareness about your company and what it does.

Do your research. The direct marketing campaign will have the majority of the research done for you, but you should understand the basics about your customers. You need to understand what they are looking for, what they expect and what triggers them to make a purchase or use your company’s services over the competition.

Be strategic about your advertising campaigns, a good direct marketing campaign will use many pieces of marketing to create the whole picture.

Make sure that you or your company is favorable among the demographic you are targeting. You want to have something people want, otherwise no direct marketing campaign can help.

Details should never be overlooked, even the smallest. Have information on your primary contacts correct and stored in a database. This is very helpful when you are speaking to a client and if they say something like their wife is in the hospital, you can say “I Hope Glenda is feeling better”. Make it personal. Take notes!

When creating marketing materials, be sure they will be noticed. December is a bad month for delivering flyers or other mailed material; mailboxes are already overloaded, so keep your mail campaigns set aside for other months.

Whatever you do and whoever you do it with, always follow up. You never want to take for granted that you or what you said will be remembered, follow up on any conversation or contact you have to ensure you both have the details correct on the steps ahead. With marketing campaigns, do not just send out an email and expect that it is going to be answered, make a phone call, send a follow up email, make contact with your contact or they will no longer be a contact!

What Marketing Automation Means?

The very basic formula of any marketing is:

Defining Prospects + Contact Details + Campaign = Marketing

The act of automating these steps with the help of technology and software turns it into Marketing Automation.

Thus, when with the help of a business software some or many steps of marketing are handled automatically by a software or application, that’s called marketing automation.

Beginning of Marketing Automation

So, at the beginning, when computer and internet were new and weren’t matured as much as they are today, the marketing companies used to compile a long list of prospective clients and then send them the same mail one by one. Then someone invented a function by which people were able to enlist all email IDs in one email and send a bulk email.

We can call that the first Marketing Automation attempt as the system had automated one part of the marketing campaign. Now there was no need to send each individual one by one. It was now done with a single click. Though, you had to create a database of all the email IDs first, but the repetitive process of composing the same email for every individual was discarded.

From the that time on, people have just built upon the same idea, transformed more manual steps into the automatic ones and more and more repetitive efforts performed by executives has turned into automated ones.

Today, it is possible to send one mail to a thousand (or a million) people without writing a single word, without entering email IDs manually or hitting send at the moment you want send it.

How? A few types of mails have readymade formats available for free. You can take that format as the body of your mail. Then there are services which provide you list of email IDs in the domains you require. And then on an email client, you schedule your emails to automatically be sent without your presence. See? Nothing is written and yet you have sent thousands of emails with a few clicks.

Though, such email with readymade templates will have a very low conversion rate. Yet, it reflects the reach and advancements in the marketing automation segment. You are only required to tell the software what you want to do and then, everything is done automatically.

Marketing Automation: Intelligence Gathering

Marketing Automation software has gone advanced and thus they have also made the every steps of marketing advanced. The aforementioned simple formula of marketing has become complex, much more focused, centralized and aligned for the maximum ROI. Nowadays, only gathering lists of email IDs isn’t enough. For maximum efficiency you have more software and techniques to discard the people and steps which have less possibility to turn into conversion. You can target only those people who have higher likability of turning into a customer.

How you/software know that?

Today, in the times of matured internet with the social media sites, increased internet footprints, there is software available which follows and tracks a person’s internet footprint on social media, search engines, different websites and all the things they click and look out for on the internet. After that, the software segmentizes the data and turns it into actionable information. Basing on that information, the tool suggests you the people which are most likely to convert into customer as they are probably following the similar things which falls into the product category of your product or their interests and search results suggests that they are interested into the product you are selling i.e. a person running a big firm is more likely to buy your CRM (Customer Relationship Management) system than a man who sells candies at a local shop. Thus, you can discard the people who aren’t going to buy your product and focus only on the people with higher likability. This way, your spending on mail clients shows higher ROI with maximum efficiency. The rate of replies, mail openings, leads and ultimately to the conversion also stays high.

Thus, the software and tools are helping to maximize your performance by intelligence gathering from online sites and people’s online footprints. Collected intelligence is helping you to do marketing efficiently, smartly and with higher return.

Marketing Automation: Workflow Automation inside the Company

There is this third part of the marketing automation which furthers the game to the next level which makes sure that you are always there to close the deal for any customer who is interested in your product. It’s called Workflow Automation.

Workflow Automation actually tracks the performance of the recent marketing campaign and sees if the prospect has reached to a level where he is considering buying your product. He is probably visiting your website regularly, spends longer time on it or is visiting the product pricing page. At that time, the marketing automation software understands the prospect’s higher possibility of turning into a conversion. At that critical time, the software sends to one of your marketing executive an alert for such a prospect who, from there on, can take predefined steps to ensure the prospect turns into a conversion. The Marketing Automation Software are looking at the people’s profiles, habits, nature and collective psychographic data to understand if he will be interested in your product or not.

That’s marketing automation at its maximum performance.

You can understand that all the marketing automation tricks, techniques and ways described here are just the extensions of the decades old basic marketing formula. Those three steps are now highly matured with their own sub-parts, polished to a level where the conversion ration stays high, with segmented information about the prospects to target only the best ones and achieve results with far higher leads and conversions than its basic counterpart.

Marketing Automation isn’t only for Email Marketing.

That’s true. Whenever a person thinks of online marketing, email marketing pops up the first. But, as its well-known, there are a lot of other ways to market your product online. Social media posts, online conferences/calls/webinars, website promotion, advertisements, etc. There are a lot of options and each one is a marketing effort.

Now, in each of these techniques, if there is a Marketing Automation Software available which is making a few steps automatic i.e. posting on multiple social media sites at once or posting articles/press releases automatically on multiple article directories or article/PR submission sites, then that software is helping in your marketing campaign and is making it automatic. That is also a marketing automation software.

Marketing Automation isn’t bound only to email marketing.

How to know if you require a marketing automation software?

The criteria is simple. If you rely on email marketing, social media marketing and other traceable online marketing techniques, then here are the situations to use a marketing automation software:

  1. If you are repetitively sending thousands and thousands of emails to your prospect on daily/weekly/monthly basis
  2. You require a detailed review of your marketing campaign
  3. Using a software reduces cost/time/efforts spent on the task greatly

Benefits

Benefits of marketing automation are:

  1. It accelerates the whole campaign tremendously
  2. Marketing Intelligence helps you to target only prospects with higher conversion possibility
  3. Your employees get great support to track down and assist the most interested prospect. Thus, it goes to the last mile to ensure one more deal is closed.
  4. The detailed analytics and statistics help you to get better and better with your every campaign
